The Role EVS Supervisor – 1st Shift (Housekeeping) Location: Los Angeles, CAShift: Sun - Thurs 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisor to lead our 1st shift housekeeping team at a large, high-acuity hospital in the Los Angeles area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands hospital cleaning standards, patient-centered service, and team accountability. The EVS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This leader will manage frontline staff, ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of environmental services/housekeeping experience; Lead or prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with peers and client staff.
  • Ability to execute on and achieve established goals and objectives with employees.
  • Ability to train, coach, discipline where needed, evaluate, and mentor employees.
  • Familiar with technology and timekeeping systems, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
  • Proficient in English language: reading, writing, verbal.
  • Covid-19 vaccination requirements may vary by client site.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support EVS associates across assigned hospital areas
  • Ensure all cleaning and disinfection meets hospital, Joint Commission, and infection-control standards
  • Conduct inspections and quality audits of assigned areas
  • Train, coach, and discipline staff as needed
  • Manage staffing levels, assignments, and coverage
  • Respond to customer service issues and urgent cleaning requests
  • Maintain productivity, safety, and supply standards
  • Collaborate with nursing, facilities, and hospital leadership
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
