About The Position

Position Summary: Supervises and coordinates the activities of nursing personnel within the hours of the assigned shift; maintains standards of patient care and manages unplanned events occurring during the shift toward a successful outcome; assists in and makes recommendations to Department Directors in the process of long term discipline, retention, termination, and performance evaluation; assumes responsibility for staff development during the assigned shift in accordance with the staff development plans of the Directors Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists in maintaining the Hospital’s and Nursing Service’s philosophy through effective nursing care. Makes staffing adjustments to meet patient care needs. Approves overtime. Controls staff by taking appropriate and corrective action. Immediately investigates patient care incidents. Maintains effective communication with the staff and Nursing Administration. Promotes interdepartmental relationships.

Requirements

  • Must have current RN license in the State of Michigan
  • Must have had at least two (2) years of nursing experience
  • BLS Certification through American Heart or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification within 3 months of accepting position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Supervisory experience
