Summary The Supervisor - High & Heavy is responsible for overseeing end-to-end import, export, and inland logistics operations for key accounts. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers, maintaining a high level of direct engagement and collaboration. The Supervisor will design and implement optimized logistics solutions aimed at reducing costs, enhancing service performance, and driving operational efficiency, while building strong, long-term customer relationships to support sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required

  • H.S Diploma/G.E.D Required
  • 5 -8 Years of Experience in SCM, Logistics, or Freight Forwarding Required

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end 3PL operations, including inbound, outbound, inland transportation, and warehouse/distribution activities, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and contractual service levels
  • Oversee the transportation of freight across multiple modes and ensure high customer satisfaction through timely, accurate, and proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide operational leadership, direction, and escalation management to freight forwarding and operations teams in response to urgent, time sensitive, or exception based transportation requirements
  • Manage and maintain departmental operational functions, including billing, accruals, cost control, reporting, and recordkeeping, in compliance with internal policies and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Own and manage assigned key customer accounts, focusing on relationship retention, service performance, and the expansion of share of business through value-added logistics solutions
  • Monitor service performance and ensure that all service failures, delays, or exceptions are thoroughly investigated, communicated, and resolved through corrective and preventive actions
  • Implement, standardize, and continuously improve air freight forwarding operational procedures for import and export
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Procurement, and Finance teams to support pricing, quoting, and contract execution, ensuring operational feasibility and margin alignment
  • Ensure system accuracy and data integrity within internal and client’s ERP systems
  • Manage and monitor freight forwarding accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare Freight Forwarding month-end activities and support the Finance/Accounting department with invoicing, inquiries, aging, and reconciliation
  • Support new account operational setup, transition activities, and competitive analysis
  • Ensure that all team members consistently deliver a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Follow leadership direction with a high level of accountability, ensuring timely execution, transparent reporting, and issue escalation
  • Perform other duties as assigned and accomplish top management objectives by delivering required operational results
  • Act as the ultimate owner for assigned shipments and customer movements, maintaining end-to-end visibility and accountability
  • When a shipment is in progress, ensure continuous customer communication and availability
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone or email until delivery is fully completed
  • Proactively update customer on shipment status, risks, delays, or changes, rather than responding reactively
  • Lead customer communications during critical, sensitive, or escalated situations, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and confidence
  • Set the standard for customer-first mindset, ensuring that service continuity is maintained regardless of timing, urgency, or operational complexityEnsure that customer expectations are properly managed and aligned with operational realities, while protecting company interests and service commitments
  • This roles elevates from execution to ownership and leadership, with strong emphasis on customer communication, accountability, and end-to-end operational responsibility
