About The Position

In this role, you will help manage the Rail Division's daily operations and Retail Program by ensuring the success of gift shop sales onboard the rail cars as well as playing a huge part in the overall guest experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the retail warehouse team is successful and ensuring a positive interaction with all team members of our operations.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications.
  • Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years of clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
  • Must meet Company's clean driver eligibility requirements.
  • Minimum age of 21 is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of Guest Service Hosts and the unit's activities and operations.
  • Routinely coordinates passenger activities and services.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives, and applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Assist with and manage retail clerks' daily tasks to ensure duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all mail orders are fulfilled, packaged, and prepared for shipping.
  • Meet the daily evening train with members of management and retail clerks to check in retail.
  • Collect gift ship inventory sheets to restock gift shops storage areas on board train cars.
  • File and secure all retail envelopes and mail orders.
  • Work closely with the Administration team to ensure sales data for onboard staff is current.
  • Input data into Excel tracking system, which determines employee Retail Sales Bonus eligibility.
  • Manage missing/damaged retail items, collecting and correcting inventory.
  • Receive product orders off large box trucks via forklift (forklift training provided).
