Job overview and responsibilities This position is required to supervise (GSE) ground service equipment operations at United staffed maintenance operations. Responsible for the local maintenance planning and execution; productivity, accountability and dependability program execution and (SLA) service level agreement compliance delivering the optimum level of GSE in support of safe and reliable airline operations. Partners with all local customer bases ensuring positive customer relations and service level goals achieved. Maintain a positive working together relationship among co-workers and customers. Supervises team performance and execution against all division and corporate maintenance objectives This includes maintenance customer service level agreement (SLA) compliance, maintenance cycle time, all in service level goals / tolerances, planned and preventative maintenance program compliance Leads efficient and effective team maintenance operations in a positive, productive and safe work environment Supervises maintenance productivity, coordinates technical training, manages employee dependability issues, supports team recognition program and supports employee accountability programs in accordance with policy Manages accurate and effective customer reporting and communication programs while sustaining positive customer service and effectiveness ratings Leads safe and environmentally compliant maintenance operations Supports all safety / OSHA, environmental and training programs compliance Supports safety mitigation programs and leads investigations that support root cause analysis of accidents, injuries and incidents involving ground service equipment or team personnel Maintains proactive communication and positive relations with maintenance team and customer group stakeholders

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED/Education equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in a technical or maintenance-related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a maintenance- related role including working knowledge of diesel, electric and gasoline motors
  • Knowledge of planning and execution of maintenance operations and leading a team of maintenance personnel
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Possess related technical knowledge
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising union-represented employees
  • Experience using Fleet Focus software
  • Associates or technical degree in a related field
  • ASE Certification
  • Prefer knowledge of GSE-related maintenance operations
