About The Position

The Supervisor of Finance and Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization. This multifaceted role combines responsibilities related to financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and government contract billing oversight and supports the Director in managing the overall priorities and workload of the team. The incumbent will provide insights, manage budgets, analyze financial data, and optimize cash flow while supervising a dedicated team. This position demands a blend of financial acumen, leadership skills, and attention to detail. This Supervisor oversees the Sr. Accountant and Accountant roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • five years relevant billing, budget, and financial analysis experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge and ability to use an in-house PC-based accounting system in a network environment, including ability to create, run, and verify reports.
  • Advanced expertise with Excel/Word is essential.
  • This position requires the ability to successfully manage multiple projects under deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and conceptual skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze financial trends impacting the bottom line and provide recommendations for operational improvements through sound analytical procedures.
  • Prepare and review program budgets, actual variances, projections, accruals, allocations, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and balanced budgets.
  • Support the Director during regular meetings with Program Directors to provide guidance, deliver and explain fiscal data, and actively participate in the management of the designated portfolio.
  • Approve program purchases and monitor salary, fringe, and OTPS allocations, ensuring adherence to approved methodologies.
  • Assist in the collaboration with program management to optimize contract funding based on financial insights.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of funder requirements, guidelines, cost manuals, and policies for compliance.
  • Prepare CFR and other external reporting with related supporting schedules.
  • Supervise, cross-train, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Review monthly billings, track revenue collection, journal entries, and strategize for cash flow optimization.
  • Enhance the efficiency of the monthly deliverable calendar, update billing matrix for cash flow projections, and ensure a deep understanding of government billing guidelines and related cost manuals.
