About The Position

Job Summary Designs and supervises employee records maintenance functions in Support Services. Essential Functions 1. Supervises and trains assigned staff, conducts performance appraisals, makes employment and discipline recommendations, and coordinates work assignments. 2. Develops systems to handle employee information flow to ensure efficient records processing and retrieval. 3. Supervises implementation of annual salary schedule updates. 4. Supervises the preparation of experience and employment verification forms for both current and former employees. 5. Serves as school district representative for all unemployment compensation claims and hearings. 6. Prepares personnel reports of a specialized nature for the Board, State Department of Education and outside agencies. 7. Maintains the computerized system for EEO reporting and monitors for accuracy. 8. Processes and monitors verification of experience for salary purposes for certificated employees new and or returning to the district. 9. Maintains coding structures in the computer system for Duval County School System/Department of Education reporting. 10. Act as liaison to the payroll division to ensure timely and correct payment of employees. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years experience in school administration or Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource related laws, regulations, policies, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, procedures, methods and theories
  • Strong supervisory management skills
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills
  • Strong Human Resource Information Systems skills (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to interpret union contracts
  • Ability to design workflows and procedures
  • Ability to manage team activities
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement processes

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in staffing and recruiting preferred.
