About The Position

The Supervisor, DSD (Direct Store Delivery) Delivery is a front-line leadership role responsible for the day-to-day tactical execution of branch operations and broader Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) strategies related to delivery. This role involves managing daily plans, including order/route management, employee performance, and communication with internal/external stakeholders. The supervisor will also engage with drivers, work with customers, and manage standard work processes for the Delivery Pillar. A key aspect is ensuring compliance with FMCSA Rules and Regulations, including Hours of service, DOT breaks, and ELD compliance. The position drives execution against core KPIs across safety, service, savings, and people categories, aiming to promote a safety culture, ensure delivery efficiencies, manage the delivery labor budget, and develop direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • HSE Essentials & Safety knowledge.
  • Warehouse & Transportation Operations knowledge.
  • Business Partnering skills.
  • Customer Centricity.
  • Order to Bill process understanding.
  • Warehouse Labor Planning (WPP) skills.
  • Route Composition knowledge.
  • Federal / State Regulatory Compliance & Law (DOT, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, HR Policies) knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily plans, including order/route management, employee performance, and communication with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to delivery drivers, work with customers, and manage standard work processes for the Delivery Pillar.
  • Schedule routes, conduct ride-alongs, and ensure compliance with FMCSA Rules and Regulations (Hours of service, DOT breaks, ELD compliance).
  • Drive execution against core KPIs across four main categories: Safety, Service, Savings, People.
  • Promote a safety culture, reduce incident/accident rates, ensure successful roadside inspections, conduct DMS meetings, enforce pre- and post-trip inspections, and conduct safety audits.
  • Ensure delivery efficiencies, accurate order fulfillments, route compliance, and on-time deliveries.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings.
  • Manage the Delivery Labor Budget and financial acumen.
  • Approve payroll, drive lowest cost per case through productivity plans, Lean Six Sigma projects, and loss prevention.
  • Identify supply chain opportunities and participate in continuous improvement programs.
  • Interview, onboard, and develop direct reports through various formats (classroom, OJT, work-with).
  • Coach direct reports on development plans and manage local hourly employees (Union/Non-Union) through coaching, communication, and relationship building.
