About The Position

In support of the acute care facilities, this role partners with leadership to provide focused oversight for developing, implementing, and evaluating Credentials processes to assure accurate and timely completion of the medical staff applications for appointment, reappointments and temporary appointment to the Region. Trains and supervises staff and consultants. Provides professional support to the Region Credentialing Coordinators, Physician Leaders, and Facility Administrators to assure compliance with the required regulations for each appropriate accrediting body. Schedule is full time, 1.0 FTE, Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm in Alaska time zone, with some flexibility and advance notice to provide support outside these hours; 40 hours per week. Note - the following States are currently permitted for remote employment in this position with Providence Health System Alaska: Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. Requirements

  • CPCS or CPMSM certification through NAMSS (National Association Medical Staff Services).
  • 5 years Executive/administrative level work within a medical staff office
  • 2 years Supervisory or lead experience
  • 2 years Experience with set up, reporting and data base management tools
  • ASM/MD staff or similar credentialing software

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or Similar Field.
