The Supervisor – Construction, during the project phase, is responsible for driving the daily execution of project activities within the assigned area with primary focus on construction progress, workforce coordination, and site productivity. The role ensures timely advancement of work through effective mobilization and deployment of manpower, materials, tools, and equipment in alignment with project schedules. The Supervisor – Construction oversees day-to-day site operations, directs the craft workforce, and ensures that all construction activities are preformed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The position requires close monitoring of productivity, proactive identification of constraints, and prompt resolution of on-site issues in coordination with Area In-Charge.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ maintenance supervisory experience in large mining/manufacturing company, preferably heavy industry.
  • Working knowledge of processing facility operations in the Mining industry including concentrator operations, safety, maintenance, equipment, and staff utilization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent work ethic, and attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct field oversight of contractors during construction and pre-commissioning activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, staffing levels, and daily progress to ensure scope commitments and timelines are being met.
  • Verify contractors have required materials, tools, and access to complete assigned work without delay.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehousing, and planning teams to prevent material or equipment shortages.
  • Hold contractors accountable for safety compliance, housekeeping standards, and adherence to site policies.
  • Escalate performance concerns or schedule risks as needed and work proactively to mitigate delay.
  • Analyze maintenance problems and help with the coordination of schedules to maximize equipment availability and performance.
  • Assist in planning maintenance jobs including procurement of necessary parts, equipment, and tools.
  • Oversee the development and execution of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Organize and track work/equipment history to optimize equipment maintenance planning.
  • Evaluate and adjust required warehousing of equipment spare parts with maintenance needs.
  • Recommend and assist with organizing planned shutdown jobs.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
  • Assist with monitoring, promoting and administering the safety programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trades workers as needed.
  • Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
