We are looking for a Bond Shop Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations for our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business serving global aviation customers. You will be responsible for support, development and guidance of the Bond team as well as ensuring the team meets operational goals and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures. Candidate should be a self-starter with high bias for action, proficient with continuous improvement tools and initiatives with experience leading events/projects. Candidate should also be adept at working with cross-functional teams, can effectively communicate and work with internal and external partners and customers. LOCATION: Onsite - Foley, AL SHIFT: Monday - Thursday (from 5:15AM – 2:15PM) and Friday (from 5:15AM – 11:15AM)

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in production manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing production, operations such as shop floor, workforce, and flow distribution management functions.
  • Ability to supervise work across multiple manufacturing functions.
  • Experience setting daily operational objectives for a team.
  • Experience with communicating and presenting precise information to internal/external customers and leadership.
  • Familiarity with aircraft specifications as applied to in-process and final inspections.
  • Familiarity with composite repair process including wet lay-ups, Pre-impregnated layups and bagging depending on the application.
  • Familiarity with composite repair equipment such as ovens, hot bonders and autoclaves.
  • SAP or other ERP Experience
  • Experience negotiating, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Experience working under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed.
  • Experience using Microsoft office suites; Excel, PowerPoint, Word

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of composite repair mechanics to ensure quality of work performed, compliance with procedures and drive performance to team and organizational targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental practices. Is aware of and looks for potential safety hazards. Takes needed action if issues arise.
  • Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure scheduled ship date accuracy.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance on development opportunities.
  • Responsible for team compliance, including attendance, training records, safety.
  • Manage area overtime and direct versus indirect time.
  • Manage team vacation schedule while supporting customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all site and job specific training requirements and performance review process.
  • Maintain an area skills matrix to ensure adequate resources and back up is available.
  • Understand customer needs and issues to ensure that our customers receive excellent service.
  • Perform other duties as required.
