In this position... People Leader for D&Rs of FNA and FoM regions. Responsible for high quality (on-time, within budget, and meeting engineering and attribute requirements) delivery to GPDS milestones for Underbody BIW systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • 7 years of PD Engineering experience, within structural commodities, including GPDS forward model programs and launch.
  • Thorough understanding of Underbody Structures component designs, experience with interfacing systems (Upperbody BIW, Chassis, Suspension, P/T, EV), material and joining knowledge.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and high technical aptitude with a demonstrated history in successfully leading cross functional teams.
  • Natural ability to build productive relationships, achieve cooperation, and influence priorities of technical experts and other key partners.
  • Ability to manage/resolve urgent production quality and launch concerns.
  • Strong skills in project planning and management - experience in managing large complex projects.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills to lead group projects, issue resolution, and management reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering disciplines for failure mode avoidance (FMA).
  • Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion for customer – inherent self-starter with strong drive for results
  • Position requires simultaneous management of multiple complex and urgent issues
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering disciplines: DVP&R, DFMEA, 8D, Process Controls, Reliability, and System Engineering Fundamentals
  • Knowledgeable in GPDS: UNVx, TDJ/TDC, DCV, PEC/FEC, and Tool releases/builds.
  • Proficient in WERS, AIMS, AVBOM, BSAQ, GPIRS, DVA, and Digital Tools (CAD).
  • Able to travel and support final assembly plants and supplier sites when required during project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall design leadership to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, and durability.
  • Responsible to lead, review, and approve Underbody BIW designs to ensure delivery to component Engineering Specifications, and vehicle requirements.
  • Responsible to resolve all durability, assembly, and functional issues identified.
  • Proactively run your business to include agenda and issue management communication with immediate leadership.
  • Coach, technical mentor, and guide engineers and rotating FCG's within section.
