We have an opening for a Supervisor for the Advanced Additive Manufacturing Group . You will perform direct administrative supervision including personnel management of exempt and non-exempt technical employees and personnel actions, i.e., selection, promotions, training, performance evaluations, salary recommendations, and corrective actions. Working closely with the Section Leader and Superintendent, the selected candidate will be responsible for the organization and cost-effective utilization of the workforce, equipment and materials. This may include long-term planning, budgeting, and financial projections. Other responsibilities are ES&H compliance, code regulation or standards compliance, and working on complex to highly complex technical projects. You will be responsible for solving technical and logistical issues involved in aspects of facilities. This position is in the Advanced Manufacturing & Materials Processing Section of the Materials Engineering Division (MED) within the Engineering Directorate. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work. You will Provide daily technical leadership and direct administrative supervision of the work center/teams including work planning, setting priorities, assigning daily work assignments, personnel related functions, and ensure safety and security oversight for work activities. Provide technical guidance/training to staff in additive manufacturing procedures/processes and equipment operations. Interact with program leads, facility managers, technical contacts, engineers, and scientists to support work center activities. Analyze and interpret complex administrative, technical information, and project objectives and translate them into job requirements and concepts, implementing solutions and alternate approaches to solve complex problems. Make decisions using a high degree of independent discretion and judgment and resolve multi-project/program requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
