About the position

As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you'll be a vital leader for our AP team, providing guidance and expertise to the AP Accountants answering complex internal and external inquiries and providing guidance to users navigating our AP Invoice system. A key part of your role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with various teams to proactively resolve issues, streamline workflows, and ensure the most efficient AP operations. You'll also oversee the utilization of our fully automated invoice processing system, emphasizing data accuracy and integrity across all transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct employees in activities related to Accounting, HR Accounting, Property Accounting, Billing Control, Tax, Accounts Payable, Credit Cards and Financial Reporting
  • Oversee, direct and perform duties related to the preparation of information and reports including accounting reports, budget preparation, forecasting, variance reporting, expenditure audits, capital project approvals, closing job orders and completion reports, general ledger account reconciliations, VEBA trust reconciliations, proxy tables, benefit vendor payments, benefit plan budgets, monitor payroll funding, generate payroll costing reports, annual and monthly variance analysis, budget compilation and presentation
  • Provide guidance and direction relative to Accounting, HR Accounting, Property Accounting, Billing Control, Tax, Accounts Payable, Credit Cards, and Financial Reporting processes to employees, supervisors, management, industry peers and others
  • Perform calculations, review, analyze, interpret and/or monitor information and reports including government reports, SEC/IRS/FASB guidance, payroll reports, training analysis, budgets, policies and procedures revisions and recommendations, projections/forecasts, variances, overheads, allocations (Payroll/General Corporate), accounting reports
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job
  • Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, Finance, other related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience
  • Thorough knowledge, experience administering and interpreting of policies and procedures related to accounting methods, practices, procedures, budgeting, payroll and/or tax
  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including using computer applications such as Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Application of math, algebra and basic statistics
  • Experience training, directing, and supervising; demonstrated ability to apply personnel policies and procedures
  • Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, budgets, governmental rules, and regulations, contracts, correspondence, and account information
  • Experience researching, composing, and preparing reports, budgets, financial information, and correspondence
  • Experience leading, directing, and/or supervising; interacting, advising, training, and communicating effectively
  • Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals
  • Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
  • Read and write fluently in English
  • Applicable driver's license
  • CPA, CFA, CTP, or other relevant Certification
  • Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors
  • Communicate and exchange verbal and written information and instructions; conduct oral presentations
  • Visual abilities sufficient to perform job responsibilities
