About The Position

Works under the direction of a Manager. This position provides direct crisis intervention and counseling services to victims of crime as well as clinical supervision for interns, volunteers, and/or contractors. Complies with agency mission in ensuring that victims and survivors of crime are provided with holistic advocacy, support, and forensic services. Collaborates with community partners and county staff to raise awareness of the impact of violence and trauma and the resources are available to victims in our community. Verifies compliance with all programmatic or operational requirements of both grant and county funding sources.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years’ experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, or a closely related field; OR
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field; OR
  • An equivalent combination of related education, and/or experience.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License or secure one by date of employment.
  • Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance as of date of employment.
  • Must be able to respond effectively to crisis situations.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific experience working with victims of crime preferred.
  • Licensure by a counseling or social work-related board preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as senior trauma counselor, providing direct crisis intervention and counseling services to victims of crime.
  • Provides clinical supervision and programmatic oversight for interns, volunteers, and/or contractors, ensuring that services are clinically and ethically sound, trauma-informed, and client-centered.
  • Sets clear expectations for staff/intern performance, including ensuring that staff/interns understand and adhere to county, agency, and grant goals, objectives, and activities.
  • Works with staff and leadership to develop and implement effective and efficient operations and service delivery procedures and protocols.
  • Monitors service delivery and case documentation for quality control and continuous improvement.
  • Collects and analyzes individual and team data to ensure ongoing equity in caseloads as well as accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Provides guidance to agency’s leadership team in the development and evaluation of victim-centered programming.
  • Remains up to date on best practices and evidence-informed programming in the victim services and violence prevention fields.
  • Develops and implements crisis intervention training and technical assistance across the agency.
  • Participates in the agency’s community engagement efforts, including providing education and organizing and promoting awareness activities and events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
