About The Position

Own field execution for complex machinery moving and rigging projects—data centers, pharma/GMP sites, advanced manufacturing. You’re accountable for safety, schedule, quality, and cost in the field. You plan the work, build the plan with the PM, and lead crews and subs to deliver it—without surprises.

Requirements

  • 6+ years field experience in rigging/machinery moving or heavy industrial/millwright work, 2+ years leading crews on complex projects.
  • Proven delivery in at least one high-spec environment (data center, pharma/GMP, semiconductor, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926, ASME B30, rigging math, CG/COG, D/d, load angle factors, cribbing/shoring, and ground loading.
  • Proficient with forklifts/telehandlers, Versa-Lift class, gantries, jacks, skates, and signaling/hand radio comms.
  • Able to read construction drawings, specs, rigging plans, and P&IDs at a competent level.
  • Clean driving record; ability to pass background checks for secure sites and drug/alcohol testing.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 (Construction)
  • NCCCO/Rigger & Signal (or equivalent)
  • First Aid/CPR; lift-planning or rigging engineering coursework
  • GMP/cleanroom experience, contamination control training
  • Basic AutoCAD/LiftPlanner (or similar) proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily JSAs/THAs, enforce LOTO, hot work, confined space, and lift/rigging procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1910/1926 and ASME B30 standards; stop-work authority is expected.
  • Maintain site-specific controls: GMP/cleanroom protocols, contamination control, gowning, tool accountability, FM200/clean agent awareness in data halls.
  • Coordinate security/badging, MOP/SOP and EOP work, and shutdown windows.
  • Build and execute detailed rigging plans and lift plans (forklifts, Versa-Lift, gantries, skates, jacks, cranes); verify load charts, pick paths, ground bearing, and clearances.
  • Contribute to method statements and logistics plans; lead pre-task meetings and daily huddles.
  • Sequence work with GC/owner trades (MEP, controls, commissioning); coordinate deliveries, trucking, and crane support.
  • Read and mark up drawings/specs; verify dimensions, anchor patterns, elevations; support layout.
  • Direct multiple crews; set daily/weekly targets; remove constraints.
  • Oversee machine uncrate/set/bolt-up, precision alignment/leveling, utilities tie-in coordination, SAT/FAT/IOP support.
  • Enforce QA/QC checklists, tolerances, torque/leveling records, and turnover packages.
  • Protect margin: validate scope, document changes, and feed changes to PM same-day.
  • Build 3-week look-ahead; maintain daily production tracking and percent-complete.
  • Confirm resource loading (labor, gear, rentals); minimize idle equipment and overtime creep.
  • Approve timecards, delivery tickets, crane/truck dockets; verify subs’ quantities.
  • Run daily coordination with GC/owner; represent the company professionally.
  • Surface risks early; provide clear, factual updates; close out punch quickly.
  • Maintain daily reports, photos, redlines, and lift/rigging records.
