About The Position
A growing, privately held general contractor based in Chicago with a strong pipeline of ground-up multifamily and mixed-use projects across the city and surrounding suburbs. The team is tight-knit, experienced, and built on a culture of ownership, accountability, and developing people who are hungry to grow. This is a company where superintendents actually run work — not just manage paperwork. The Opportunity This is a new role added to support an expanding project pipeline. You'll come in on the front end of projects, own the site, and work closely with an experienced field ops team that is known for developing strong field leaders. If you've done everything on a job site but haven't had the chance to run one solo yet — this is that opportunity.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of field experience on GC-side multifamily projects
- 100+ unit project experience required; 150+ preferred
- Someone who has done everything on a job but is ready to run their own — or is already there
- Hands-on, proactive, self-sufficient — not a trailer-bound super
- Humble, hungry, and hardworking — coachable but driven
- Chicago-based; projects within 40 miles of the Loop
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day field operations on ground-up multifamily projects (100+ units)
- Manage subcontractors, coordinate trades, and enforce quality and safety standards
- Work alongside project managers during preconstruction and take full site ownership once in the field
- Maintain schedule, identify issues proactively, and drive solutions
- Lead and develop assistant superintendents and project engineers on site
