About The Position

The Superintendent, Metallurgist is responsible for leading all metallurgical aspects of Nevada Projects from study phases through execution and commissioning. This role ensures that metallurgical design, testing, and operational strategies are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with project performance objectives.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in processing operations or engineering roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related process discipline required.
  • Proficiency with relevant software applications and technical platforms.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgical testing, processing analysis, and process optimization (direct experience highly preferred).
  • Experience supporting technical studies, EPCM execution, and plant commissioning.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead metallurgical scope for feasibility, pre‑feasibility, and execution‑phase projects.
  • Select representative samples for metallurgical testing; manage sample collection, logistics, and data evaluation.
  • Develop and oversee metallurgical test programs with third‑party laboratories, including ramp‑up strategies and operating philosophies.
  • Ensure laboratory, sampling, and metallurgical accounting systems are established, validated, and operating effectively.
  • Build and assess technical and economic trade‑offs to support flowsheet development.
  • Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangements, and other engineering deliverables.
  • Collaborate with EPCM partners, engineering consultants, and equipment vendors to review and approve metallurgical design packages.
  • Provide technical guidance on equipment selection, sizing, reagent systems, and materials handling.
  • Develop metallurgical control strategies, operating philosophies, and recovery models.
  • Support development of project estimates, operating cost models, and reagent consumption forecasts.
  • Ensure all metallurgical activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote safe execution of metallurgical test work and project-related activities.
