Requirements
- College degree or High School diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Prior supervisory experience in a union environment preferred
- Experience in welding, painting, vehicle repair, or assembly preferred
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Ability to interpret and utilize process sheets, blueprints, and forecast sheets
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Repair experience with military vehicles (JLTV, Humvee, FMTV) or commercial experience in automotive, truck, or heavy equipment repair
Responsibilities
- Supervise multiple manufacturing departments to ensure efficient utilization of personnel
- Maintain high standards of quality workmanship and adherence to production schedules
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Lead problem-solving efforts, including root cause analysis, data collection, and implementation of solutions
- Develop and implement new processes and procedures to promote a lean manufacturing environment
- Serve as backup support for supervisors as needed
- Communicate and collaborate with the Shop Union Committee
- Support supervisors in day-to-day operations
- Plan for future builds and line rates
- Manage OME for assigned areas
- Support and improve APS
- Provide technical support to hourly repair personnel
