About The Position

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing field operations for commercial concrete and masonry projects throughout the Newark area. This hands-on leader will oversee daily jobsite activities, ensure crews work safely and efficiently, coordinate materials and equipment, and maintain strong communication with project management and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field leader who thrives in fast-paced construction environments and wants to contribute to a growing contractor with a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

Requirements

  • 5+years of field leadership experience in commercial concrete or masonry construction.
  • Familiarity with union crews or willingness to work in a union environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical construction documents.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage crews, coordinate resources, and maintain project timelines.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of structural concrete, formwork, flatwork, foundations, and related scopes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily field operations for concrete and masonry projects.
  • Coordinate onsite workflow, manpower, equipment, and material needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, union requirements, and company policies.
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with owners, general contractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Monitor jobsite progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Document daily activities and maintain accurate field reports.
