About The Position

Firmo is seeking an experienced Superintendent with ground-up construction (hotel / multifamily) experience to join our team. An integral member of our Construction team, this individual will be charged with managing active jobsites on ground-up commercial projects from start to finish, delivering a high-quality finished product for our clients. Key functions of this position include overseeing trade partners, ensuring compliance and safety, working closely with project management stakeholders, daily reporting, holding subcontractor meetings, and keeping projects on schedule and budget. This is an on-site, full-time position, overseeeing ground-up hotel construciton, with the first project being a ground-up build in Crystal River, FL. This is not a remote position. This individual must… Be a self-motivated problem solver, knowledgeable in multiple divisions of commercial construction, Have experience as a Superintendent on ground-up projects, including Hospitality (or similar), Proficient with construction management software (i.e. Procore), able to learn new software, Value integrity, professionalism, quality workmanship, and positive teamwork, Excel at adhering to deadlines, maintaining a clean jobsite, motivating subcontractors, and communicating with project stakeholders in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience, primarily ground-up for a General Contractor.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proficient with construction management software and able to quickly learn new platforms.
  • OSHA 30 and CPR certified (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong professional references required.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout active jobsites for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding.
  • Able to lift, carry, and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned jobsites.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality construction experience preferred (3+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activity on Firmo’s job sites.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all construction project documents.
  • Work closely with Project Management from pre-construction through closeout to successfully manage project schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and inspect all Subcontractors and Suppliers activity.
  • Complete and upload jobsite log, progress photos, and activity reports to construction management software.
  • Ensure all subcontractors on site are working from current and complete documents.
  • Lead weekly jobsite meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Enforce safety regulations at all times.
  • Manage building inspections.
  • Issue and oversee successful completion of punch list items.
  • Maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technologies.
  • Seek out opportunities, training or otherwise, to enhance work performance.
  • Exercise absolute caution and professionalism while on job-sites at all time.
