About The Position

SIATech High Schools is seeking a visionary and collaborative Superintendent/CEO to lead the organization into its next chapter of impact and growth. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Superintendent/CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the SIATech network, ensuring strong academic outcomes, sound financial stewardship, and alignment with the organization’s mission and charter commitments. The successful leader will inspire a culture of high expectations and innovation while building strong partnerships with staff, students, community stakeholders, and charter authorizers to advance SIATech’s mission. The operation and administration of SIATech and subsidiary corporations is an interactive and collaborative structure; pupil learning as measured by pupil’s achievement of high standards is the fundamental purpose of the SIATech learning organization. The Superintendent/CEO is responsible for the operations of SIATech, including, but not limited to, the areas of general administration, instruction, human resources, communications, government relations, facilities, and business affairs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or above in educational administration required
  • A minimum of five years experience in a related administrative or educational field required
  • Current Administrative Services Credential
  • Tuberculosis (TB) risk assessment demonstrating that no risk factors have been identified or proof that a qualified professional has determined no TB following testing and examination.

  • Doctorate preferred, experience in business development desired

Responsibilities

  • Organize agenda and content for Board meetings; oversee scheduling of, and participate in, monthly meetings
  • Present regular reports and recommendations to the Board on academic, financial, and operational matters
  • Facilitate strategic planning and goal-setting for SIATech workshops; meet with Board informally; monitor ongoing and prospective litigation, and provide updates to Board
  • Work with legal counsel to manage risk and resolve disputes within Board-approved authority; keep Board apprised of same
  • Participate in subcommittees formed by the Board
  • Support, supervise, and monitor Executive Cabinet members and their professional activities and ensure the alignment of the educational program with the mission, vision, and principles of SIATech, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and standards
  • Chair Superintendent/CEO meetings and participate in staff, site, principal, and budget committee meetings and curriculum summits
  • Oversee development and maintenance of working relationships and professional understanding between school administration and staff members
  • Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a high-performing team
  • Oversee performance evaluations and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and credentialing requirements
  • Formulate and recommend compensation packages for employees to the Board; make recommendations concerning appointment, retention, and promotion of corporate personnel.
  • Provide leadership for all educational programs; directly prepare and maintain responsibility for the execution of the budget
  • Oversee annual budget development and multi-year financial planning
  • Provide transparent financial reporting to the Board and stakeholders
  • Monitor, update, and renew school charters
  • Ensure sound financial operation of, and legal compliance by, SIATech in all areas
  • Engage all stakeholders in upholding the vision and educational philosophy of SIATech
  • Build and maintain strong connections with local, state, and federal charter advocacy organizations
  • Oversee development and maintenance of legal agreements between SIATech and Job Corps and all affiliated entities
  • Actively engage in building support for SIATech and affiliates’ educational programs by networking with key members of legislature, charter advocacy groups, and other appropriate organizations
  • Build and maintain positive connections with charter authorizers (i.e., Vista Unified School District and Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District)
  • Forecast and project SIATech’s future needs
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of SIATech and promote a culture of high expectations, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of integrity
  • Oversee all work to ensure important deadlines are met

  • Monitor student achievement data and lead data-driven decisions to improve outcomes
  • Support and evaluate site-level leaders and instructional staff
