About The Position

Under the supervision of the Tejano Center, the Sunrise Lofts Resource Navigator will work with youth ages 18-24 who are referred to Sunrise Lofts. This position assists young adults in navigating all the Tejano Center resources, Sunrise Lofts support services, community resources, assist in the leasing process, and providing ongoing support and services to the young adults to ensure they remain stably housed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science arena, e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field
• 3-5 years of verifiable full-time paid case management experience (including case documentation) working in an educational, institutional, counseling, or social service setting working with youth who have challenging life circumstances.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of case management and administration, case management documentation, and records management.
• Experience with the utilization of Microsoft office suite and Case Management Software.
• Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software, including Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license (Texas) and auto liability insurance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be self-disciplined, self-motivated, dependable, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks and demands to accomplish outcomes.
• Skill in empathizing, valuing, and dealing successfully with the special capabilities, distinctive cultural histories, and unique.
• Ability to handle sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully.
• Ability to maintain the highest standards of ethical behavior, exercising honesty and integrity, respect, confidentiality, and fairness in the execution of official responsibilities.
• Ability to contribute effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
• Ability to become CPR certified.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth, family members, school and government officials, law enforcement, community partners, and the public.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with transition-age youth and young adults (17-25 years old) transitioning into stable housing and/or out of foster care.
• Experience/knowledge of community resources available to transition-age youth.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and case management services to the young adult residents by providing ongoing case management support once the young adults are housed at Sunrise Lofts to ensure they remain housed.
• Attends and participates in wraparound case management meetings with these young adults to provide status updates services.
• Completes required data entry and maintains case files for assigned cases/young adult residents.
• Identifies and maintains partnerships with outside partners.
• Attends and participates in Sunrise Lofts events, workshops, including Tejano Center events and outreach.
• Other duties as assigned.
