Sunday Event Staff (Part-Time)

The Gentle Barn is a nonprofit sanctuary dedicated to rescuing animals and helping both animals and people heal. At The Gentle Barn, you’ll be part of a purpose-filled environment where your work directly contributes to changing lives, both human and animal. This part-time role provides support on Sundays when The Gentle Barn is open to the public. Responsibilities include managing the front entrance by ensuring accurate Sunday sign-ins and properly checking in guests. Additionally, this position will handle payments via cash or credit card. This position is onsite 1 day a week on Sundays from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving abilities
- Must be punctual and maintain reliable attendance
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience in customer service or public-facing roles
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- Previous cash handling experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors, volunteers, donors, and special guests
- Guide visitors to parking and provide shuttle service to the property
- Check-in guests using the online ticketing system
- Provide directions and answer visitor inquiries as needed
- Escort guests into The Gentle Barn, offering a brief history, outlining rules, and setting expectations
- Monitor and maintain inventory of food and beverages in the snack shop
- Clean, stock, and restock the snack shop as necessary
- Follow and implement all safety protocols
- Report any concerns regarding visitor, volunteer, employee, animal health or safety immediately
- Perform additional duties as assigned
