About The Position

Part-time Summer Only Position $18 per hour! Program will begin the first week in June and run through the first week in August. The SYESP will work from 16-22 hours per week. This is a great position for school teachers, school counselors or college students during summer break. Summer Youth Employment Support Professionals have a desire to create a lasting positive impact on people's lives and enjoy coaching, mentoring, training, and encouraging others to celebrate their achievements on the path to community employment. Responsibilities include teaching high school students with disabilities employment-related skills, while identifying strengths, skill sets and interests to encourage successful entry into the workforce upon graduation from high school. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions: General: Uphold the rights and dignity of all persons served while promoting independence and self-advocacy. Ensure service delivery complies with federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Ensure documentation and reporting are completed in a timely and accurate manner per federal, state, and local rules and regulations. Follow all governing bodies' communication guidelines in a professional and timely manner. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with community business partners. Continually assess work environments and report health and safety hazards as needed. Participate in all required meetings and staff training. Perform other related duties as assigned. Summer Youth Work Experience: Provide hard and soft skills training to students. Encourage and assist students in meeting the worksite's expectations. Provide supervision to students for the duration of the session. Identify employment-related strengths, interests, skill sets, and passions and encourage development. Identify employment-related barriers and consider solutions. Inform students’ parents and Community Employment Services Manager of progress and concerns. Exemplify professional conduct in the workplace. Build rapport with students and worksite employees. Education and Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in employment services is preferred. Eligibility Qualifications: Strong communication skills, both oral and written Ability to speak effectively and persuasively to students, team members, and employers. Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently. Must demonstrate exceptional training and organizational skills. Must demonstrate reliability and a positive attitude. Must have the ability to represent students and the agency in a professional manner. Must have reliable transportation. Required Licensure and Certifications: Must submit to a BCI/FBI background check, Nurses Aid & Abuser Registry checks. Must be able to maintain American Red Cross or equivalent first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification. Must complete required training upon hire. Work Environment: This position operates in the community at a local business to be assigned upon hire. Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. Individual must be able to lift, bend, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a temporary part-time position. Individual must be able to work a first shift schedule. Requirements
