About The Position

Work directly with elementary school age children under the guidance of our recreation team leads. You will have the opportunity to develop your customer service skills and aid the Youth Recreation Team leads. About the job: Provide program instruction and/or patron supervision in recreation programs and facilities under the supervision and direction of other staff. A day in the life: Facilitates and implements casual recreational activities. May assist with instructional classes and/or lead basic instructional classes with close supervision. Communicates effectively with the public including providing accurate information related to work assignment and responding to patron and parent questions and concerns. Helps set-up and breaks-down equipment and facilities. Maintains the cleanliness of facilities and equipment. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong Knowledge of: Typical recreation activities associated with assignment General safety precautions associated with assignment
  • Skill and Ability to: Effectively follow-through on directions given for specific assignment; Demonstrate a strong work ethic; Provide for the safety others; Work with some independence while also able to work cooperatively with others; Interact effectively with a variety of patrons/participants; Communicate effectively, tactfully, and pleasantly with the public and others; and Establish and maintain positive, respectful and cooperative working relationships with all contacts.
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age
  • Currently attending high school
  • Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities stated above.
