About The Position

The Summer Theatre Camp Site Lead works alongside the Arts and Events Recreation Supervisor and Theatre and Performing Arts Coordinator to organize, implement, support, and evaluate City children and youth Summer theatre camps and programs. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are: Coordinate program specific tasks including managing supplies, sending camp-related parent/guardian communications, collecting and filing child info forms, daily camp check-in and check-out, and other theatre camp logistics. Provide on-site coordination and troubleshooting for camp programs including: set-up and tear-down; serve as camp assistant to lead instructors and as assistant director for the Children’s Theatre Workshop (CTW) 3-week camp and performances in July; ensure a safe and fun camp environment for participants. Attend meetings and perform various administrative duties required for program implementation. Act as a positive role model to staff, volunteers, and participants. Support students in their learning and behavior. While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • Two years of college coursework, preferably in theatre, education, recreation or related programs required. One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for college coursework.
  • One year working with children or youth in a volunteer or work capacity required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (or able to acquire by start date)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite required.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Weekday and weekend availability required.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, driver’s check (must have excellent driving record), background check, work verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with performing arts events, coordination with outside vendors preferred.
