About The Position

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a part-time Summer Technology Worker to work in the MCPS Technology Department. This temporary position is anticipated to begin on or around June 2, 2026, and end on or around August 7, 2026. JOB DESCRIPTION: The part-time Technology Worker will perform routine maintenance on all computer equipment including but not limited to Chromebooks, tablets, desktop workstations, interactive displays, and AV equipment. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, labeling, cleaning, updating devices, unboxing, removing equipment, and preparing equipment for disposal. The employee is expected to undertake any other general tasks as directed. Candidates must have a solid understanding of the day-to-day operations within a large Technology Department. This includes delivering excellent customer service, working effectively as part of a team, independently troubleshooting technical issues, and navigating the general workflows and responsibilities typical of a dynamic tech environment. Work schedule will be ten (10) hours/day Monday through Thursday during the time period of June 2, 2026, through August 7, 2026.

Requirements

  • Completion of some high school course work
  • Ability to work as teammate with Technology Department personnel
  • Ability to identify and report technology issues to proper authority
  • Willingness to promote and develop a friendly technology environment in cooperation with the end user
  • Dependability and punctuality required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including heavy lifting and climbing ladders
  • Maintain account security
  • Must be able to provide transportation to work and home

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a technology role within a school division or educational setting.
