About The Position

Whether you’re on break from high school, college, or simply looking for a meaningful way to fill your time, this summer opportunity may be the perfect fit for you! The Anderson Public Library is looking for a committed Summer Shelving Page to join our team during our busy Summer Reading months! You’ll help serve our diverse community by working with the Circulation Services department to shelve returned library materials, check assigned shelves for neatness, shift shelves/collections as needed, and prepare carts of returned materials for shelving. Don’ miss the chance to join a great team this summer!
Requirements
- Working toward or has obtained a high school diploma.
- No prior training or experience is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Shelves or files returned library materials to correct location.
- Checks assigned shelves for neatness and to insure that items are maintained in their proper call number order.
- Shifts shelves/collections as needed.
- Checks for overdue materials, missing items, etc.
- Prepares carts of returned materials to be shelved.
- Complies with Anderson Public Library’s policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, requirements, standards, principles, and practices applicable to the job, including [but not limited to] work scheduling and attendance, customer service, use of Library property and equipment, personal and professional conduct, and confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
