About The Position

The Summer School Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the BESD Summer School Program. This includes supervising professional staff and students, coordinating all summer school activities, and managing the recruitment and enrollment of students and staff. The role also involves ordering necessary curriculum, collaborating with principals to foster a conducive learning environment, and regularly coordinating with teachers. A key aspect of the position is to collect and analyze student achievement data.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
Valid Arizona teaching certificate
Three years of successful teaching experience
IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Nice To Haves

Have or be working on administrative certificate or hold a leadership position within the school (Academic Coach, Reading Specialist, etc)

Responsibilities

Oversee the summer school program.
Work with site principals (and CIA designee) to set up digital classrooms and small groups using available data.
Be responsible for collection and maintenance of all summer school records.
Communicate with and work cooperatively with site principals and administrative assistants.
Organize summer school teacher orientation/training in collaboration with the Executive Director of Curriculum and Assessment.
Organize and prepare summer school registrations and classes.
Coordinate pre and post testing of summer school students as well as progress monitoring; analyze student data in collaboration with the District Assessment Coordinator.
Order (any needed) summer school curriculum.
Monitor and manage student issues as referred by teachers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
