About The Position

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking bachelor-degree students for our Paid Summer Internship Program, a 10-week paid learning experience designed to help students gain real-world exposure to nonprofit administration in human resources and marketing/communications. Interns will work alongside a team of human resources or marketing/communications professionals as well as participating in structured trainings provided by People Incorporated's Training Institute. Each intern reports to the Learning & Development Manager and receives daily guidance and task coordination from an assigned onsite mentor. The intern selected for the marketing/communications team will assist with tasks designed to advance their learning in how communication strategy supports organizational alignment and brand visibility, understanding the process of developing print materails from concept to distribuiton, and implementation of event planning and activation logistics within a nonprofit setting. The intern selected for the human resources team will assist with tasks designed to advance their learning in how data and reporting projects influence organizational decision-making, the impact of orientation and onboarding process on the employee experience, and the application of employment law on job descriptions, policies, and standard operating procedures. Schedule: Approximately 24 hours per week (typically Monday/Wednesday/Friday) during business hours. Exact schedules may vary slightly. Requirements

  • Current undergraduate (pre-baccalaureate) student with completed coursework in human resources or marketing/communications
  • Ability to commit to the full 10-week internship program
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional ethical standards
