About The Position

Thank you for considering our Summer Nurse Internship opportunity at Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital, a subsidiary of MHealth Fairview for the summer of 2026! Our Summer Nurse Internship program provides an individualized educational experience. The program is tailored to meet individual students. As a nurse intern, you will be mentored one-on-one with registered nurses to gain hands-on nursing experience. Our program provides opportunities to enhance your technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. There's so much to gain Real-world experience under the guidance of RN mentors Hands-on experience in a variety of areas, including patient assessment, intervention, and care planning Opportunities to work with nurses and other health care professionals in a variety of roles and patient care settings Opportunities to increase self confidence in patient care Opportunities to explore nursing care in other departments Preferential status for employment upon graduation Every effort is made to place interns in the clinical setting that match their career goals, whenever possible. Interns will be able to experience a variety of departments including Emergency, Intensive Care, Med/Surg/Peds, Women's Health & Birth and Clinic

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or baccalaureate nursing program and will graduate by Summer/Sept 2027.
  • BSN applicants will have completed their junior year and cannot have an RN licensure. ADN applicants will have completed two clinical rotations.
  • Have a current BLS for healthcare providers certification through August 2026.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Be able to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (every two weeks) in variable shifts
  • Be able to work for 10 weeks during the summer beginning late May/early June to early/mid-August.
  • If you accept a SNI position, you must enroll and participate in an internship course at a Minnesota based school of nursing.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values.
  • This position provides one flat hourly rate, with regular reviews to ensure competitiveness with the market.
