About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for fabrication, assembly operations, and managing the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties Requirements: Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. Candidates are expected to commit to a 10- to 12-week program. Must be dependable and punctual. Must have a desire to learn skills on the job in a fast-paced environment. This is a temporary position designed for students who are home for the summer months. Expected start dates are between mid-May and early June. This position is not eligible for benefits, PTO or paid holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
  • Ability to read and understand reports and a willingness to cross train on several operations.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Dependability/punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies.
  • Help ensure co-workers are working safely and following safety policies.
  • Follow all applicable procedures, Standardized Work, Control Plans, and Product Specifications.
  • Participate in required 5S and Autonomous Maintenance activities.
  • Learn, understand and implement AMS and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
  • Work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and Standardized Work.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment and use hand tools as required.
  • Rotate as required through multiple jobs.
  • May or may not operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) based on operations/department need.
  • Identify problems, communicate issues to Crew Leads and Supervisors, and assist with problem-solving.
  • Assist with training co-workers.
  • Support a respectful workplace.
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management.
