General Summary As a Summer Maintenance Worker, you will work with the maintenance team to ensure the physical condition of the campus buildings and grounds meet the expected operating and safety standards of Indiana Tech. This position will participate in preventative maintenance, respond to work orders, and prepare student housing units, contributing to an exceptional campus experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Degree or Equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Minim Minimum one year experience in a maintenance-related field
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be available to work 37.5 hours per week mid-May to early August
  • A resume and cover letter are required in the application process.

Responsibilities

  • Patching and Painting drywall walls
  • Moving furniture; file cabinets, tables, and chairs from various buildings or departments
  • Minor electrical (changing light bulbs, removing and installing electrical plates)
  • Assisting full-time maintenance personnel with other indoor and outdoor repairs
  • Planting trees, shrubs, and various plants in the campus landscape beds
  • Help with picking up trash on campus
  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Institute of Technology
  • Other duties as assigned
