About The Position

Under general direction from the Director of Human Resources or their designee, performs general duties/activities associated with line level positions and completes assigned special projects. The Intern will be assigned to a department(s) that will provide practical experience that contributes to the Intern’s success in their program of study. In addition, the Intern will be responsible for reporting their activities and skills/knowledge gained in the form of a business written report, as well as create and present a presentation at the end of the internship utilizing TMCR’s multimedia programs. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a full-time college degree in Accounting, Business, Hospitality, Engineering or gaming related field.
  • Able to work and live in Fresno, CA.
  • Must have excellent guest service skills.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
  • Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and techniques.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner, building respect and confidence.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
  • Ability to prepare routine accounting and administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to use good judgment, analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements including Tribal Sovereignty and ability to interpret those laws.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplifies adherence to TMCR’s attendance policy.
  • Strictly adheres to all relevant TMCR operational and Human Resources policies.
  • Assists assigned departmental staff with various essential gaming and business projects to enhance the goals and objectives of TMCR.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow Team Members.
  • Prepares written documentation commonly used in the internship program.
  • Develops and prepares presentations and reports as required.
  • Maintains and operates office machines, equipment, and computers.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
