The Lab & Systems Engineering Intern position resides in the Lab Services department at CableLabs. This department maintains multiple technology labs providing shared resources to individual technical focus areas. Our team plays a crucial role in the daily engineering efforts of the company by providing environments and resources to teams developing the next generation of technologies for the cable industry. Requirements
- Studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or related fields.
- Strong communication skills
- Basic Linux Administration, Red Hat or Ubuntu
- Knowledge of how to use and deploy containers.
- L2 & L3 Networking
- Familiarity with version control systems and code collaboration using git.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes
- Orchestration utilities such as Helm or Ansible
- Ability to configure and manage networking OS including Arista EOS and OcNOS
- Familiarity with DOCSIS, PON/Ethernet and Wireless (4G, 5G) networks
Responsibilities
- Improve lab resource availability and ease of use through increased monitoring, alerting and automation.
- Research and deploy additional features based on user feedback.
- Facilitate daily activities in the labs.
