What We Need: We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organized intern to join the KIIS FM Morning Show team and learn the fast‑paced world of live radio. You’ll help research topics, gather prep materials, and pitch ideas for on‑air and digital content. You should be comfortable tracking breaking stories, spotting trends, and presenting insights clearly. Interns rotate through programming, social, production, and promotions or can focus on a specific track. We need someone dependable, detail‑oriented, and positive—especially during early mornings. Skills in Microsoft Office, editing tools, and social platforms are a plus. This is a hands‑on chance to learn from industry pros and contribute to one of LA’s most listened‑to morning shows.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; active listening; effectively conveying information; ability to proofread & edit
  • Planning & organizing: focusing on urgent and important tasks; avoiding procrastination; showing attention to detail; meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Flexibility & creativity; can adapt to shifts in priorities and urgencies
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms, e.g., X, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest
  • Professionalism
  • Full-time undergraduates (rising Junior or Senior) at a four-year college
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • College/university transcript
  • Letter from the student’s school stating that the student will be granted credit for the internship

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in media field a plus
  • Career interest in media industry
  • Media field of study e.g., Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Broadcast Journalism a plus

Responsibilities

  • Research breaking stories, trending topics, and relevant content to support daily show prep.
  • Gather and organize materials for on‑air conversations and digital content.
  • Pitch creative ideas for segments, social media, and audience engagement.
  • Present research and insights clearly to the Morning Show team.
  • Rotate through programming, social media, production, and promotions—or focus on a specific track aligned with skills and goals.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day tasks in a fast‑paced, live‑show environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude during early morning hours.
