Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith and adhere to its Christian purposes of evangelism and discipleship. Employees and volunteers must profess belief in Jesus Christ, subscribe to Young Life's statements and policies, fulfill ministry functions, refrain from conduct detracting from biblical standards, and abide by all policies. The internship involves spiritual development through prayer, spiritual disciplines, fellowship, growth, and active participation in a parish community and the Young Life community. It also focuses on leadership development, including meeting with volunteer leaders, learning to recruit and train new volunteers, modeling excellence in Young Life's contact work, club, Campaigners, camping, and committee activities, and understanding personal calling and ministry as a vocation. Resource development includes assisting staff with donor communication and learning to network with key community adults. Direct ministry involves actively engaging in contact work with students and adults, helping lead Young Life club and Campaigners ministry, and implementing a camping strategy. Ministry support covers adhering to policies, managing finances, maintaining accurate records, and professional communication. Interns will actively engage in training provided by local area leadership to gain competency in ministry skills and become familiar with area strategy and ministry health.
