ASTRO is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Summer Intern to support both the Membership and Community Engagement teams. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience across two interconnected areas: membership data quality and operations, and programs that support students, residents and community engagement initiatives. The intern will contribute directly to improving the accuracy and usefulness of ASTRO’s membership data while also supporting award programs, mentoring initiatives and student-focused activities tied to the Annual Meeting. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in data analytics, nonprofit operations, public health, communications or health care administration to build practical skills in a mission-driven professional association. Learning Opportunities include: Hands-on experience working with a professional association membership database (AMS), exposure to membership operations, data quality management and reporting in a nonprofit environment, experience supporting award programs, mentoring initiatives and student engagement activities, development of foundational skills in data cleanup, research, reporting and operational coordination, insight into how professional societies support education, career development, volunteer engagement and community-building, and opportunities to collaborate cross‑functionally with communications, public relations, finance and IT teams.
