The Resilience & Sustainable Design (RSD) Unit is responsible for leading the Engineering Department's efforts to incorporate climate resilience and sustainable design into all aspects of the Agency's capital program and related activities, in alignment with the Agency's Environmental Sustainability Policy. Responsibilities include the development, implementation and updating of the Agency's Sustainable and Climate Resilience Design Guidelines to incorporate industry best practices and align with peer agencies throughout the region. In addition, the group develops outreach programs to build internal capacity among engineers, architects, project teams, and line departments. RSD works with the selected candidate to customize a work program based on the individual’s 1) skills and abilities, 2) interests, and 3) the priorities and workload of RSD. For example, duties may be related to applied research; development of design criteria/design review; updates to guidelines, standards, and manuals of practice; creation of communications and/or educational materials; engagement and outreach; and/or related duties as needed.
