About The Position
About the Internship The Geotechnical Engineering Group of the Engineering/Architecture Design Division of the Engineering Department is responsible for the investigation and design for all projects and structures involving earth or rock engineering. Our capabilities are at the forefront of this engineering field and involve subsurface investigations and design analyses for all of the Agency facilities. Our goal is to provide cost effective, safe, and appropriate engineered solutions for all Port Authority projects.
Requirements
- Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
- Major in Engineering (Geotechnical, Civil, or related discipline)
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one (1) undergraduate level course either in Soil Mechanics or Foundation Engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCad .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Responsibilities
- Assist staff Geotechnical Engineers in performing foundation design and analyses.
- Prepare sketches and/or edit drawings using AutoCad .
- Analyze subsurface investigation and/or instrumentation monitoring data using Excel Spreadsheet.
