Our US Mine Waste Team is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineering Intern – Summer 2026 to work out of our Anchorage, AK office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program. This 12-week internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program that is scheduled to start on May 18, 2026. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible. Your Impact Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal of developing technical, social, and ethical skills. Learn basic principles of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering as they apply to tailings management and the Mine Waste industry and engage with the local Anchorage team that supports civil and geotechnical projects throughout Alaska. Assist our US Mine Waste team with project research, valuable field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis. Gain technical project experience by supporting preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates; collect and maintain project documentation. Receive technical training and mentor support from the Mine Waste team in addition to the opportunity to explore WSP’s extensive project portfolio and the kind of solutions we provide for our clients. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
