About The Position

The Rockefeller Foundation seeks an intern for the President s Office. Reporting to the Managing Director, President s Office, and working closely with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other team members, this role supports strategic initiatives that advance the President s objectives- most notably related to climate action, the Build the Shared Future special initiative, the energy portfolio (including Global Energy Alliance and Mission 300), and U.S. policy engagement. The President s Office team leads high-impact projects, partnerships, and convenings with global leaders, CEOs, and civil society.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in public policy, international relations, business management, government, international development, economics, or a related field.
  • Able to prepare and organize materials for managers and senior leaders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; can draft clear messages and summaries.
  • Basic project management: able to track tasks and manage priorities with guidance.
  • Experience supporting events or meetings, including logistics and content preparation.
  • Familiarity with at least one Rockefeller Foundation focus area (e.g., climate, energy, food, health, equity, finance, or innovation).
  • Able to work with others and manage relationships in a team setting.
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks or changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Managing Director, President s Office to develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the President s objectives, especially in climate action, Build the Shared Future, energy portfolio, and U.S. policy engagement.
  • Support project management and strategic communications activities related to Build the Shared Future.
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing materials for senior leadership, including fundraising materials and strategies, and other special projects.
  • Draft outreach to key stakeholders, develop briefing materials for the President and senior leaders, and support planning for important external engagements and trips.
  • Support preparation for high-level convenings and bilateral meetings with world leaders, CEOs, and civil society leaders.
  • Drive special projects that advance the President s program and policy priorities (e.g., energy access and transition, climate strategy, food, finance, and health) with guidance from the President s Office team.
  • Support end-to-end grantmaking (including proposal development, grantee outreach, and due diligence) for the President s Office as required.
  • Support operations of the President s Office, including knowledge management, document and deliverable review, and ad hoc research.
