Webster's internship will be demanding & rewarding and prepare you for your career ahead. Summer Intern Program duration: June 1 – August 7, 2026. Location: White Plains, NY As an intern you will be responsible for supporting various Operational Risk teams with a wide range of activities. Intern Responsibilities: The Operational Risk Intern supports the bank’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) function in identifying, measuring, evaluating and mitigating risks. The role provides hands‑on exposure to risk frameworks, including RCSA, KRI monitoring, issue management, operational loss events, and governance processes aligned with regulatory requirements. This position will work with various risk teams throughout the summer.

Requirements

• Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university who is pursuing a degree in related field and has an interest in the banking/financial services industry
• Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive

• Demonstrated strong attention to detail
• Experience creating and delivering presentations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to learn quickly and solve problems

• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Explore Emerging Technologies: Research and recommend tools and technologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Benchmark Data Analysis: Conduct comparative analysis of frameworks used by leading organizations to inform modernization efforts.
• Support Policy Alignment: Assist in drafting or refining policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare Presentation Materials: Prepare clear documentation, presentations, and dashboards to communicate improvements and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Prepare GRC procedures as needed.
• Complete other job responsibilities as assigned.
