About The Position

Under direct supervision, Summer Interns participate in a ten-week professional development program designed to provide hands-on, entry-level experience aligned with the student’s major field of study and the sponsoring department’s business operations. Interns gain real-world exposure to OCTA operations and the transportation industry while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from experienced professionals. As a Summer College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking. This is a temporary, full-time internship position (approximately 40 hours per week) and runs for ten weeks during the summer. The pay range is from $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on your education level. This posting will remain open until filled.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited two- or four-year college or university
  • Students that graduated with their bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the fall of 2025 or plan to graduate in the spring of 2026 are eligible
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Transportation Planning, Public Administration, Engineering, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Interest in transportation funding, public infrastructure, and capital program delivery
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of transportation funding programs
  • Prepare programming documents, applications, requests, submittals and guidelines for funding
  • Coordinate programming efforts and communicate with agencies, project managers and others
  • Update, maintain, track, and report on projects and project funding
  • Prepare written reports, analysis, maps, charts, presentations, correspondence, queries, and other materials
