Our Vision: To make New York City the global model for inclusive innovation and economic growth, fueled by the City’s diverse people and businesses. Our Mission: Creating a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers. Internship Program Overview: Our 2026 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 8, 2026. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer. Summer interns will join an intern class consisting of undergraduate and graduate students to work on exciting projects in one of EDC’s many dynamic departments. Summer Interns will also participate in training programs, networking events, and other professional development opportunities over the course of the program. Department Overview: Situated within NYCEDC’s Planning Division, the Land Use Department works closely with NYCEDC teams to make sure plans are best positioned to be brought to life. We shape strategy early on and guide projects through key approval steps—like environmental review, zoning, permits for waterfronts and wetlands, and regulation of historic buildings and contaminated sites—while working with city agencies and regulators. Our goal is to help turn innovative visions into successful projects for New Yorkers. The Intern's portfolio could include projects from anywhere in the 5 boroughs with diverse project goals in support of NYCEDC’s mission. Recent projects supported by Land Use include the Kingsbridge Armory Redevelopment, the Science Park and Research Campus (SPARC) Kips Bay, Willets Point, the NYC Ferry system, and the Hunts Point Food Distribution Center.
