About The Position

As a Land Survey Intern for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be part of a survey field crew performing work on topographic and boundary surveys, and construction stakeouts. You will perform land survey work through the application of surveying principles and practices and use of modern survey equipment. You will operate instrumentation, clear brush, drive stakes, hold chains or rods, record data, prepare sketches and maintain equipment as needed. You will also have the opportunity to be responsible for utilizing surveying software applications to gather, retrieve and interpret important data, and performing basic survey computations. Ultimately, this position will provide a foundation for further professional development as a land surveyor. Through the CEC Internship Program, you will: Acquire practical experience applying knowledge from college courses, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations; Develop a robust professional network through social events and interactive activities; Collaborate closely with a mentor in your discipline to tackle real-world challenges; and Participate in workshops to help foster interpersonal skills within the workplace and prepare students for success in their full-time careers.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Survey Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or other related field preferred
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment and possession of sufficient physical stamina to work outdoors under various field conditions
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities
