About The Position

The Rockefeller Foundation is seeking a Knowledge Management Intern to join the Information & Knowledge Management team. This internship offers undergraduate or graduate students hands-on experience in core knowledge management practices, including managing information throughout its lifecycle, supporting knowledge-sharing activities, and contributing to change management initiatives. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the accessibility and usability of organizational information, support internal communications, and participate in projects that enhance organizational learning. Program Details Open to undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in an accredited program. Applicants must submit a resume and cover letter as part of the application process. Work authorization in the United States is required. This is a summer internship, full-time (35 hrs/week) from June through August 2026. The position is based in New York City and requires in-office presence Monday - Thursday.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in information science, library science, knowledge management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Interest in information and knowledge management, change management, and internal communications.
  • Strong writing and communication skills; able to research and summarize new topics.
  • Basic organizational and project coordination skills; able to manage tasks and deadlines with guidance.
  • Collaborative and open to feedback; comfortable working in a team setting.
  • Proactive skillset and willingness to learn new tools and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, maintain, and improve internal knowledge repositories and support document lifecycle management.
  • Assist with content migration from legacy platforms (e.g., Box) to SharePoint, ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Support the creation and delivery of learning materials and training sessions for knowledge management initiatives.
  • Contribute to bi-weekly organizational communications and change management content for the Intranet.
  • Participate in special projects and provide general administrative and project coordination support.
  • Collaborate with teams to support internal events and senior leadership forums.
