About The Position

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties, locations, and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this job. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties in this description, and incumbent(s) may be required to perform work-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description. This job description is not a “contract” between the employee and the Authority. The job duties and essential functions may be changed at the discretion of the General Manager. The Summer Intern, IT-Data and Analytics will support data engineering and data science projects by developing Python applications and SQL scripts. This intern will work with large datasets, helping to develop analytical tools and performing data analysis.

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including working with formulas, creating spreadsheets, and summarizing data.
  • Must be currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Must have at least 30 credit hours complete
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Strong skills in Data Engineering, Data Science, Python programming, SQL development, and analytics.
  • English

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate student with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or data science
  • Rising senior with experience in data engineering and data science.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Responsibilities

  • Develop Python apps or SQL scripts to support data engineering and data science projects.
  • Assist in processing and analyzing large data sets to derive insights.
  • Performance of assignments under the direct supervision of a department lead
  • Performance of other work-related duties as needed
