Position Overview Davidson Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to support our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Program Control teams within a Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to defense program financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis in support of mission-critical programs.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or exposure to government contracting, FP&A, Business, or cost accounting
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP tools)
  • Interest in defense, aerospace, or government services industries

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of program budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Support monthly financial close activities, including variance analysis (plan vs. actuals)
  • Analyze cost, schedule, and performance data to identify trends and risks
  • Contribute to financial models and reporting tools in Excel or similar platforms
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Finance, and Contracts teams
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for DoD programs
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and government regulations
